Teaching youngsters the savings drill

7th February 2018

Children from armed services families know the drill when it comes to saving money – thanks to a special ‘briefing’ at a Shropshire army barracks.

Leek United mascot Humphrey the Camel and the Society’s Market Drayton Branch Manager Lisa Worth met the youngsters during a short tour of duty at Clive Barracks, Tern Hill.

During their visit, Lisa chatted to the children about the importance of learning how to manage money from an early age, while Humphrey rationed out goodie bags.

“Services families are a big part of the community in Market Drayton, and it was great to meet them and their children at the barracks,” said Lisa.
