Applying for a savings account through Leek United

Face to Face – the very best personal service

You may choose to visit one of our branches and speak to one of our branch staff face to face.   We would love to meet you and spend the time getting to know you and what’s important to you.  We will provide you with as much information as possible to enable you to make an informed decision about the account that you would like to open.  Please get in touch, by contacting your local branch.

Contact us at a branch of your choice to arrange a savings appointment.

Meet your customer adviser and let them guide you through your savings interview.  Our in branch customer advisers will provide you with as much information as you need to make an informed decison on the savings account that you would like to open.

Consider all of the information provided and when you feel ready to do so, apply for your savings account.  This can be done in-branch with our staff who will happily complete all necessary paperwork for you.

When you open a new account with the Society, you will need to provide identification to confirm your name and address. To assist you, we try to verify this electronically. The searches will not be used to assess your ability to obtain credit and will not impact your credit status.

If we cannot verify your identity and address by this method we will contact you once we have received your application to provide paper documentation instead. Please click here for more information, link to How to confirm

Over the telephone* – the very best personal service

You may not live within our branch operating area and be unable to visit one of our branches.  It is possible to open some of our accounts through the post and  this will be clearly identified on the terms and conditions of the account you would like to open.

If further information is required we have a savings team based at our Head Office.  Our team are here to carry out the same professional, friendly service that our in-branch team of branch assistants do, the only difference being that this would be over the telephone for your convenience. 

Please note:  Currently our Fixed Rate, Fixed Term Bonds for both new and existing customers, our Fixed Rate, Fixed Term Member Only Cash ISA and Regular Savings accounts are only available by visiting one of our branches or agents in person.

Please complete our application form.   If you are applying for a ISA transfer, please also complete the ISA transfer form. We would be grateful if you would complete this/these forms with as much detail as possible to enable us to deal with your application as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Please forward your cheque for the opening balance with your completed application form. It is important that you make the cheque payable to yourself and not Leek United Building Society.

Once we have opened your account, a letter will be sent to you enclosing your new passbook.
