Will you take the savings challenge?
12th September 2023
We’re proud to be supporting UK Savings Week, which runs 18-24 September.
UK Savings Week is an annual campaign which aims to raise awareness of the importance and benefits of saving, and to encourage people to foster good savings habits.
A considerable proportion of the UK don’t have a savings pot (15%) – equating to 7.9 million people. Yet, despite this, and against the backdrop of the cost-of-living crisis, over a third (36%) of adults with no savings are confident they could start a regular savings habit, putting away at least £10 per month.
As a proud mutual organisation with an unflinching commitment to putting our members first, we were delighted to support this fantastic campaign to help those who feel they’re able to do so, to improve their savings habits. Whether you’re looking to get your savings started or want to look at making more of your existing savings, you can take the UK Savings Week challenge today.
The UK Savings Week challenge
This year, you’re invited to get involved by following three simple steps:
1. Set a goal – encouraging people to review their finances and set a target amount to save each month.
2. Make it a habit – tick it off your “to do” list by setting up a monthly payment into a savings account.
3. Reward yourself – rewards don’t need to be complicated, but they’re crucial in helping you to stay motivated. UK Savings Week will provide monthly tips, as well as free and exclusive lifestyle content, so that you can make saving a genuinely happy habit.
