Our Macclesfield branch reopens with a fresh new look

On Monday 22 May, our Macclesfield branch reopened following a significant renovation project. After initiating our refurbishment programme in 2021 with our flagship branch in Leek, Macclesfield is the ninth of our 12 branches to be renovated.

Since it closed on 21 April, the branch has undergone a complete makeover to better reflect our brand and offer a range of new and improved features for members. 

The new community wall offers local community groups and charitable organisations in the wider Macclesfield area, a place to promote their upcoming events and activities, and members can now browse our website using the new iPad area.

Thanks to the addition of an engagement zone, customers can now comfortably sit away from the counter and speak to a member of our team about any queries they have. The branch entrance remains equipped with an automatic door to maintain maximum accessibility for members.

Ronnie McNeil, Branch Manager at Macclesfield, said:

One of my favourite features is our new engagement zone which allows us to address our members’ non-transactional needs away from the counter.

Ronnie and her team were proud to have the support of Macclesfield Town Mayor, Chris Wilcock, who came to visit the newly transformed space to officially reopen the branch with a ceremonial ribbon cut.

While other financial institutions are reducing their presence by closing branches, these renovations demonstrate our ongoing commitment to you and our local high streets across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Shropshire.

Our Macclesfield branch now has extended opening hours of 9:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday and 9:15am – 12:00 noon on Saturdays, giving you more flexibility on when you can visit.

We’ll continue our refurbishment programme with Hanley branch next in line to close for renovations on 19 May.
