Congleton reopens with a fresh new look

On Monday (17 April), we were delighted to reopen our Congleton branch following its significant renovation that has taken place over the last four weeks.

After starting with our branch refurbishments in 2021 with our flagship branch in Leek, Congleton is the eighth of our twelve branches to be renovated.

Since it closed on 17 March, the branch has undergone a complete makeover to better reflect our brand and offer a range of new and improved features for members. 

The new community wall offers local groups and charitable organisations in the wider Congleton area, a place to promote their upcoming events and activities, and members can now browse the leekbs.co.uk website using the new iPad area.

Thanks to the addition of an engagement zone, customers can now comfortably sit away from the counter and speak to a member of the team about any queries they have. The branch entrance remains equipped with an automatic door to maintain maximum accessibility for members.

Richard Czapski, Branch Manager at Congleton, said:

“Following the refurbishment, the team and I are delighted with the new look of the branch. We’re confident that our members will agree and make use of the new engagement zone we’ve set up to enhance the support and customer service that we provide.”

Richard and his team were proud to have the support of Congleton Town Mayor, Margaret Gartside, who came to visit the newly transformed space to officially reopen the branch with a ceremonial ribbon cut.

While other financial institutions are reducing their presence by closing branches, these renovations demonstrate our deep commitment to local high streets across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Shropshire.

The Congleton branch now has extended opening hours of 9:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday and 9:15am – 12:00 noon on Saturdays, giving members more flexibility on when they can visit.

As our refurbishment programme continues, our Macclesfield branch is next in line to close for renovations on 21 April.
