Our newly refurbished Cheadle branch reopens
23rd May 2022
We reopened the doors to our Cheadle branch on Monday 23 May, as the latest milestone of the ongoing refurbishment project taking place across our branches.
After starting the renovation project in 2021 with our flagship branch on Leek Derby Street, Cheadle was the third of our branches to be renovated. Since it closed on Friday 8 April, the High Street branch has undergone a significant transformation to better reflect our brand and values, while adding soft new furnishings and digital screens throughout.
The renovated space features new fixtures and fittings chosen in line with our key value, ‘Members First’ to ensure we provide a great experience in-branch. Our new seating areas and private meeting rooms are suitable for discussing our range of savings and mortgage products, alongside our partners who offer pension advice, life protection, home insurance and investment advice.
Cheadle’s Town Mayor, Sue Whalley, performed the ribbon cutting ceremony outside the branch on Monday 23 May at 10:00am, and welcomed local people to join in the celebration.
To celebrate the reopening, we’re excited to have launched a photography competition to encourage you as our local members and residents to submit a photo which relates to Cheadle and its surroundings.
The competition is running from Monday 23 May to Monday 13 June, allowing all photography enthusiasts the opportunity to submit their best photo relating to Cheadle and the nearby areas. The chosen winner will receive a £50 Amazon voucher for their efforts.
Lynne Ransome, Cheadle Branch Manager at Leek United Building Society, said:
"Being fortunate enough to have some very talented artists in Cheadle, the photography competition launched alongside our newly refurbished branch gives the community a place to feature their favourite photo of Cheadle, and the opportunity to win a prize.”
In our efforts to make our branches more inclusive to our local communities, our Cheadle branch now features a community space for local groups to utilise, whether it’s to connect or pursue shared interests. We also have a dedicated donation area for Cheadle Food Bank, where you can donate food supplies to disadvantaged people in the community.
These renovations demonstrate our efforts to continue improving our branches across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Shropshire to suit the needs of our valued members.
The branch is open from 9:00am until 3:00pm, Monday to Friday and 9:15am to 12:00 noon on Saturdays. You can be sure of a warm welcome! Back to news
