LEEK United Customer Assistant Harry Griffiths is well on his way to becoming a qualified success in his job – after winning one of his college’s top honours.
Harry, aged 20, was named ‘Apprentice of the Year’ by Buxton & Leek College, where he is studying for a Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service alongside his day job at the Society’s Ashbourne Branch.
He was nominated by his Branch Manager, and received his award during the College’s annual presentation ceremony at The Devonshire Dome, Buxton earlier this month (July).
“I was taken on as an apprentice by Leek United in July 2016, and began my course at the College’s Leek campus the following September,” said Harry, of Biddulph.
“The opportunity of a full-time job with the Society came up, which I was fortunate enough to get, and I’m just completing my qualification, so it was great to get this award.”
Harry’s Branch Manager at Ashbourne, Richard Czapski, added: “Harry has been 100% committed to developing his skills, nothing is too much trouble for him, and he’s achieved such a lot during his relatively short time at Leek United.
“He helps everyone wherever possible to the best of his abilities, and I’ve received excellent feedback from customers and other members of staff. He thoroughly deserves his award, and I’m sure he’ll go on to even better things in his career.”Back to news
