'Cut-out' to be a winning family

12th September 2016

STOKE City fans Steve and Tina Beech were certainly ‘cut-out’ to be VIPs – thanks to Potters’ midfield star Xherdan Shaqiri.

The couple opened Stoke City Football Club Save and Support Accounts for each of their family after seeing a life-size cardboard figure of the Swiss international promoting the accounts at their local Leek United Branch in Uttoxeter.

Their new accounts qualified them for automatic entry into a special prize draw – and just a few weeks later, they were selected as winners of an exclusive ‘Family Package’ to cheer on their favourite team at the bet365 Stadium.

Steve, Tina, their son Dan and his cousin George were made VIPs for the day at Stoke City’s recent Barclays Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Their ‘Family Package’ included four match tickets, hospitality in the newly-refurbished 1863 Lounge, a pre-match Stadium Tour, and a signed 2016/17 squad shirt.

“We’ve never won anything before, so it was a complete shock when we were notified of the prize,” said Tina, of Uttoxeter.

“We’d seen the cardboard cut-out of Shaqiri at the Leek United Branch in town, and decided there and then to open accounts – and the prize ended up being a brilliant birthday present for our son, Dan, who turned 12 on the day of the match!”

All Save & Support Account holders will be entered into free draws throughout the 2016/17 season*. Exclusive prizes for both Adult and Junior Account Holders include: Mascot Package, Media Day, Meet the Manager and Meet the Chief Executive.

Opening an account gives 'Potters' fans the chance to make a great save - AND boost support for their favourite team.

The account can be opened with as little as £1, and provides savers with the benefit of instant access to their money.
