LEEK United Building Society are offering people in North Staffordshire and Derbyshire the chance to ‘earn and learn’, following the launch of their first-ever apprenticeship scheme.
The ‘friendlier face of finance’ is looking for two recruits to undergo on-the-job training in customer service – with a nationally-recognised qualification at the end of it.
Both will train as Branch Support Apprentices – one split between Leek United’s Ashbourne and Leek St Edward Street branches, and the other serving Hanley and Newcastle branches.
Leek United are proud that their reputation is built on first-class customer service, and are excited to be able to offer two people the opportunity to ‘learn the trade’ at first hand.
Training will last between 12-15 months and involves full-time working in-branch, combined with study at either Leek or Newcastle College for a Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service.
Each Branch Support Apprentice will work as part of the Society’s branch network team, learning to liaise with customers both face-to-face and over the telephone, cash handling and promoting Leek United’s products and services.
At the end of the apprenticeship, the apprentices will be qualified and equipped with the necessary skills to enable them to succeed in the field of customer services/sales.
Leek United are also currently finalising proposals to recruit an Information Technology (I.T.) apprentice.
