A core foundation of the Society’s strategy is to maintain a robust and fully embedded risk management framework underpinned by a highly skilled Risk & Compliance function. In particular, ensuring that capital, liquidity and market risk are managed effectively is fundamental to its long-term success.
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a driven financial risk specialist looking to develop and broaden their experience as part of our Risk function’s senior management team.
As the Head of Financial Risk, you will be primarily responsible for the second line oversight of all financial risks with particular focus on capital, liquidity & funding and market risks. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this is a high-profile role within the Society, forming part of the Risk function’s senior management team.
Ensuring that the framework for managing financial risk is robust and being adhered to at all times. Assisting the CRO in the maintenance and embedding of risk management practices, including the Risk Management Framework, whilst remaining abreast of all relevant prudential and financial regulatory developments, applying these to the Society as required to ensure compliance.
Required Skills & Experience:
You will have extensive knowledge and experience of managing financial risks including capital, liquidity, funding and market risks. This will be combined with a thorough understanding of prudential regulation, in particular those in relation to ICAAP, ILAAP & recovery planning. An understanding of financial products offered in the UK retail market and their implications for financial risks would be beneficial.
