A core foundation of the Society’s strategy is to retain and grow our mortgage book and we’re now looking for a Mortgage Underwriter who will provide a first-class service to our borrowers.
We are looking for someone who has experience in mortgage application processing and underwriting to join our mortgage team for a challenging and varied role.
Our Mortgage Underwriters are an essential part of the Society, relied upon to provide a first-class service to our mortgage applicants, brokers and mortgage advisers while processing and underwriting new mortgage applications. The exceptional customer experience that we provide gives great confidence in the Society and builds long term relationships.
You will need to be a person who works with high accuracy levels and attention to detail, whilst maintaining excellent levels of customer service.
This is a great opportunity for someone with excellent underwriting and customer service skills who is seeking an interesting, varied role in financial services. We are looking for full-time Mortgage Underwriters who can work flexibly between Monday and Friday. Saturdays may be required from time to time to cope with periods of high demand. If this sounds like something you’d thrive at, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Input, process and underwrite mortgage applications
- Talk to our members and mortgage brokers to make sure we have all the information that we need to consider a mortgage application
- Make good lending decisions
What you’ll need
- We’d like someone who has mortgage processing and underwriting experience
- The ability to plan and organise so that the needs of our members are met in an efficient manner throughout the mortgage application process
- A friendly, energetic communication style with your colleagues, our members and mortgage brokers
- The ability to react positively to changes and work efficiently when things get busy
