Location: Flexibility offered to split your working week between home and our Customer Service Centre in Leek, Staffordshire.

Closing date for your application: 30 November 2021.

Salary from: £20,000 to £25,000 depending on experience plus benefits.

Employment type: Full time, permanent position.

Hours per week: 35 hours per week, worked flexibly between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Compliance & Secretariat, you will play a key role in supporting the receipt and distribution of papers to the Board, its sub-committees and other Society forums. You’ll assist Risk & Compliance in the work that they do managing risk across the Society and be responsible for minuting meetings.

All in all, you’ll need to be able to work well under pressure whilst having the opportunity to build lasting relationships with others across the Society. This role will give you the exposure to others across the business at varying levels as well as allow you the opportunity to gain a broader understanding of the wider Risk & Compliance team. Your day-to-day role will involve:

  • Provide governance support to various meetings across the business including the Board
  • Support the wider Risk & Compliance team in relation to the risk management framework
  • Support in the delivery of the Annual General Meeting


  • Excellent written skills with experience of minute taking is preferred
  • The ability to self-motivate and react positively to changing priorities
  • Initiative to identify tasks that need to be completed whilst making your own decisions
  • Great communications skills
