But it can have its ups and downs too - as youngsters at a rural North Staffordshire childcare facility have found out.

Leek United has just helped to make outside playtime more fun at Ipstones Tiny Tots* - formerly Ipstones Pre-School Playgroup - by presenting the children with a brand new slide.

Their old slide had been going downhill for some time, as administrator Angela Wallett explained: "It had become broken, and in the current economic climate, we rely on fundraising and donations to buy equipment and resources, so the children, staff and committee are very grateful for Leek United's kind donation."

Sheila Kirk, Manager of the Society's Leek Derby Street Branch, and Lynne Ransome, Cheadle Branch Manager, visited Ipstones Tiny Tots at the Millennium Play Pavilion in Church Lane, to officially hand over the new slide.

Ben Gronneberg, Leek United's Head of Retail Sales, Insurance & Marketing, said: "The organisation plays an important role in the local rural community, and we hope the children will get many hours of pleasure from their new slide."

Children attending Ipstones Tiny Tots have daily access to outdoor play in their secure all-weather garden and their new slide will help to encourage their physical development. Ipstones Tiny Tots is now caring for children from six months of age, offering full day care during term time.
