Arty pupils invited to show their 'eggspertise' 10 / 03 / 2011

PRIMARY school children are being invited to demonstrate their artistic ‘eggspertise' to deliver Easter greetings to thousands of Leek United customers.

The Society wants youngsters aged five to eight in Cheshire, Derbyshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire to design a colourful ‘Happy Easter' poster featuring its popular mascot, Humphrey the Camel.

And the winning entry will be reproduced giant size to be ‘eggshibited' in the Leek's 12 branches across the four counties during Easter week - as well as earning a selection of art materials for the winner's school.

"There's a lot of talented young artists out there, so we're ‘eggspecting' some cracking entries!" said Ben Gronneberg, Leek United's Head of Retail Sales, Insurance & Marketing.

Closing date for entries is 25 March. Entry forms can be collected from any Leek United branch or downloaded from the Society's website, www.leekunited.co.uk, where children can also ‘meet' Humphrey.

Three posters from each branch will be forwarded for final judging at the Society's Head Office, and the eventual winner displayed across the branch network from Monday 18 April to Friday 29 April.
