We understand that Financial Services can often appear confusing and daunting, and we really are here to help you. While we can't predict your future, we can certainly help you plan for life's uncertainties.  We know that our customers are individuals; with varying needs and aspirations and at Leek United you will have a partner to help you make sense of your finances.

We're here to help you.

Investment Planning

We have a wide selection of plans which aim to make your hard earned money work even harder for you, whether you're looking for income or growth or you wish to take advantage of tax efficient savings (based on current tax legislation).

If you're planning for retirement we can help you navigate the many options available.

Life and/or Critical Illness Cover

Life assurance cover is an easy way to help protect you and your family. We offer value for money cover, which can include critical illness protection. Whether your needs be life assurance for family protection or mortgage related, we will, through our relationship with Legal & General, have a plan to suit you.

Inheritance Tax Planning (IHT)

It is easy to underestimate how much your estate is actually worth, especially with fluctuating property values. Remember, your 'estate' can include everything you own - your home, car, investments, savings, insurance policies and any other personal belongings.

It can even include gifts that you have made in the seven years prior to your death.

The current threshold for tax year 2010/11 is £325,000 per person. However, providing certain conditions are met, married couples and civil partners will be able to consider transferring their Inheritance Tax threshold. It should be noted that if your joint assets grow in value over time, even through you have transferred your threshold to your spouse or partner, you could still be liable for tax in the future.

The law relating to taxation may change in the future and it is important that you review your circumstances regularly. The process can appear daunting and that's why Leek United have specialists to help you plan for the future and ensure your estate passes to your loved ones as you intended.

If you would like to discuss whether you could be liable for Inheritance Tax and what options are available to you, speak to one of our Financial Planning Managers. There are many options to help reduce this liability or even eliminate it altogether, dependent on circumstances.

Inheritance tax is no longer a worry for only the elderly or very wealthy.  Our Financial Planning Managers will guide you through your many options to mitigate this tax.
