Leek - St Edward Street

Our first branch situated within the Society's main Head Office has seen some historic changes over the years.  There are still buildings standing in the town from the Victorian period, many of which were built by the famous Sugden family.  There most notable masterpiece is the Nicholson Institute, built in Queen Anne style in 1882.   The firm had offices in Derby Street which are now occupied by Boots the Chemist.    Local tourist attractions within the area include Rudyard Lake & Steam Railway, Alton Towers and Blackbrook Zoological Park.

The Society will celebrate its 150th Anniversary in 2013, and this is where it all began.

The branch provides a traditional and supportive link to the Society's flagship branch within the town as well as providing access for those members who require a speedy and efficient service without the need to venture into the main shopping area.
